Stanley Wu Photography | Los Angeles Portrait & Wedding Photographer
I am a Los Angeles portrait and wedding photographer who would love to travel to destinations worldwide. If I'm not shooting here in Los Angeles, I will be exploring new photography concepts to improve my art or traveling to shoot some awesome landscapes. If you would like to see updates on my work, I am running a blog for my portrait sessions, weddings, engagements, travels, and other projects that you can follow here, on Facebook, or on Instagram. In addition to portrait and wedding photography posts, I will be providing some photography and social media resources, such as the occasional behind the scenes post on my thoughts and methodology during photography sessions or weddings and tips to improve social media workflow, such as this post on optimizing images for upload (A Few Facebook Uploading Tips).
Even though most of my specialties lie with graduation portraits and weddings, getting into family sessions has made me discover a whole new world of fun in capturing the dynamic between everyone – from the silly moments to the precious, and then to the awww’s. I think this family holiday session is a perfect example! Check out the full session below!
Although we don’t quite get fall colors here in Southern California, I was amazed with the greenery that was provided at CSULB. Check out the rest of twin sisters Rachel and Claire’s session here!
Regardless of what adversities one might face in the world, nothing puts faith back into people more than seeing so many work so much to turn their dreams into reality. Check out this beautiful wedding put together by an awesome team of wedding professionals in Highland Park, Los Angeles!
Check out this beautiful Marin County engagement session! We started at Marin Headlands, and gradually made our way to the small, bayside city of Sausalito.
From scenic redwood forests to rocky beaches with waterfalls streaming into the clear blue sea, Big Sur has it all. So when Sarah and Cameron contacted me to do an engagement session there, I was absolutely thrilled. Check out the full session here!
Just finished this beautiful sunset portrait session with Samantha at UCLA! We were able to get this session in right before it got crazy busy around the campus. She brought some amazing energy to this session and it created some beautiful moments!
Just finished an absolutely breathtaking styled wedding session at Joshua Tree National Park this past April. I find the desert scenery there to be one of the most iconic and beautiful for wedding portraits.
Just finished with Tiffany and Brian’s awesome USC + UC Berkeley graduation portrait session! Check out the full session here.
Just finished a session with Helen and Katrin! They had an awesome idea of bringing in a bouquet of flowers, which I think completely matched the colorful floral aesthetic at UCLA. Check out the full session here!
Sometimes, moments are best shared with friends. Check out the full session from these awesome Bearwear models below!
Just finished an awesome graduation portrait session with Allie right after Bruin Day!
Just finished with an epic graduation portrait session with Lawrence! Check out the rest of the session below.
I had the pleasure of shooting with this super photogenic couple at UCLA for a graduation portrait session together! Check out the full gallery here.
For this session we went for a more fashion-themed portrait session, rather than a traditionally themed grad session.
Just finished another session with Cassidy over spring break at UCLA, which is a perfect time to do graduation portraits. Check out the full session preview here!
Just finished up Iris and Errol's graduation portraits and couple session this past week. I actually took Iris' graduation portraits back in 2016, and Errol's in 2017, and now that they've both graduated, they decided to do a couple session together in 2018!
Just finished a session with Jenny at USC, who is similarly excited to move on towards her next step, which is medical school!
Graduation portrait session at USC with Annie, who is graduating with two degrees – a Master's in Global Medicine and a Bachelor's in Health Promotion, featuring the Trojan poodle, Chucky!
First 2018 USC graduation portrait session of the season over spring break with Shawna, who is graduating with a degree in Accounting!
A couple of photographer friends and I decided to head over to our local Michaels craft store to take on the "ugly location" photo challenge yesterday! It was an epic night of hilarious contrast between the beautiful fantasy-like shots we got, versus the plainness and normalcy of your everyday craft store. Check out the full post for more and behind the scenes!
Although I have been trying to incorporate more off camera flash into my portraiture with some pretty awesome results so far, natural light remains my undisputed favorite. Check out this beautiful natural light session at UCLA!
Epic style graduation portraits at UCLA – alternating between all the different styles of posing to create different styles of portraits. Check out the rest of the session below, including a little furry guest that came in midway!
A small step away from the city to the vast Californian desert landscape.
A calm, golden sunset engagement session at Ascot Hills Park, a beautiful overlook of downtown Los Angeles.
Check out this beautiful cloudy-day engagement session in downtown Santa Monica with gamer couple Amy and Andy from New York!
A beautiful afternoon session with UCLA grads Joey and Stefanie.
I had the pleasure of covering Glen and Charissa's cliffside engagement in Dana Point. It wasn't just a beautiful proposal by Glen, but a full-on celebration put on by friends and family. The setup took many hours and many hands to complete, but here's the awesome result!
Spectacular natural and artificial light session at USC. Here's a post featuring a graduation portrait session at USC with Ryan!
Being an automotive fan, I've wanted to do a car shoot for quite a while, but never really got around to it until now.
Here’s an awesome session I got done towards the end of last year up in the Bay at UC Berkeley. Iris, Suki and Phoebe (plus Loki, their dog) were fantastic to shoot with!
